CAPITAL ARTPORTS was born after completion of the Polan-founded project, Faces of the Fallen , which was exhibited at Arlington Cemetery’s Women in Military Service For American Memorial from March 2005 through June 2007. As hundreds of thousands visited the moving exhibition, Annette Polan herself was touched by the power of art to transform lives.

Moved by the impact of Faces of the Fallen, Polan first developed a series of visual art workshops, targeting medical students, which was designed to develop empathy and heighten observational skills. The first workshop was given to PhD candidates in the Oxford Cambridge Scholars Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

To date a variety of executives have participated in CAP workshops from scientists to university donors to defense contractors.

Without playing with fantasy no creative work has ever yet come to birth. The debt we owe to the play of imagination is incalculable.
